Tina East is our Operations Manager. Tina has worked within the health and social care sector for over 25 years, 18 years in Management positions. During her career Tina has undertaken a number of roles including Carer, Trainer, NVQ/Diploma Assessor and Internal Verifier, Training Director and latterly Care and Operational manger positions. Tina has gained experience in most aspects of the social care sector major health and social care providers in Somerset.
Throughout her carer Tina has always believed that training is an important part of career development. In 1995 Tina became one of the first carers in the country to be awarded an NVQ in care. Since then Tina has gained qualifications at many levels including a BSc Degree in Health and Social Care Management and Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Continuous personal development remains important to Tina who attends regular training events to ensure her knowledge remains up to date and meets current best practice thinking.
Since joining Care Wyvern in 2013 Tina has developed a learning environment within the Company and all staff are actively encouraged to attend training and to gain qualifications that will further their knowledge and career with in the social care sector.
Quality care service delivery is something Tina is also very passionate about. Ensuring our clients receive quality personalised care every visit is something Tina and her management team are steadfast in delivering. This requires the whole organisation developing good working relationships with external networks and health professionals. These good working relationships were recognised and evidenced in our last CQC report.
2017 saw Tina being awarded an Excellence in Leadership award in recognition for her support, leadership and dedication to the staff and all the clients of Care Wyvern.
In her spare time Tina enjoys all types of crafts, including sewing crochet and paper craft. Tina hand makes the cards to mark staff birthday and special events. Tina also enjoys reading and attending regular Latin and Ballroom dance classes with her Husband, Kevin. Kevin and Tina also enjoy spending time walking with their dog Barney.
